See this as a example for shadow effect on thumbnails
« on: January 06, 2003, 08:13:44 PM »
Hi everyone,

I have created a shadow effect dynamically by inserting the thumbnails inside my shadow box.

Please chek it at my site and comment.

the url is,

http://members.lycos.co.uk/simranphotos/4images/categories.php?cat_id=1

Please note that the shadow effect can be extended to any image size, whether it is vertical or horizontal.

get me at powerrajesh@yahoo.com

Regards,

Rajesh Kannan MJ

It's nothing more than 8 small .gif images placed in 8 table cells around the thumbnail.  4 are placed in the corners and the other 4 along the sides.  The 4 that are placed along the sides are "stretched" by the visitor's browser to fill the entire width and height.  (Actually the small gif image is repeated to fill the table cell.)

The table has 3 rows and 3 columns.

I am totally new to this and trying to figure out what and how to edit this to make it work.  I'd like to make a border that looks like a polaroid.  So I imagine I'd need the 4 corners and then the white space to fill the sides.  The problem with this is that each image uploaded has a thumbnail of a different dimension, no?   Is there a way to make them the same dimension or cropped thumbnails to maximize say a square (polaroid)?
