From 1.7.3 to 1.7.6: just backup sql and files and restore into new version?

Because I'm having a few issues with my current 1.7.3 installation (especially because I have so many registered users), I would like to install a fresh 1.7.6 and import all existing +100k users and +20k images into it.

Can I just backup the db and files, and restore into a fresh setup?

Thanks for your help. I've searched the forum but only found German replies to this issue.

hi babe,

you can do it on another way...

replace all 1.7.3 with 1.7.6 files.....
that's all... no import needed...

BUT make before, for security reasons, an backup from your MySQL DB and ofcourse 1.7.3 files...

ATTENTION: all MODs will be lost, with replacing files
