Hi folks,

I'm using 4images 1.7.2 to locally (127.0.0.1 - Windows XP) prepare a custom-tailored gallery before putting it online. I recently installed the following MODs:

[MOD] Language select - http://www.4homepages.de/forum/index.php?topic=4743.105
[MOD] Batch Copy/Move/Edit Images v3.7.2 - http://www.4homepages.de/forum/index.php?topic=6759.0
[MOD] Check new images in ALL categories v2.11 - http://www.4homepages.de/forum/index.php?topic=4754.0
[MOD] guestbook - http://www.4homepages.de/forum/index.php?topic=7409.150
[MOD] Anti-Spam v1.0 for Guestbook & Comments - http://www.4homepages.de/forum/index.php?topic=12268.0
[PLUGIN] Batch Import From ZIP Files - http://www.4homepages.de/forum/index.php?topic=4659.0

After that, via ACP I succesfully uploaded an image and tried to create a corresponding thumbnail using auto-thumbnailer. Doing that, I get the normal message

Create thumbnail for: 02105_032_kIWI (02105_032_kIWI.jpg) ....

but the code behind that seems to have hang-up (browser-activity-icon is rotating but nothing happens even when waiting a few minutes). Clicking on another ACP-function doesn't help; browser-activity-icon is still rotating but nothing happens. In order to get control again, I have to close and restart FIREFOX.
Additional checking shows, that the thumbnail is created in the correct directory but there is no entry in the related image-record in the db-field image_thumb_file in table 4images_images. Consequently, deleting the image via ACP from the gallery after restarting FIREFOX, leaves the thumbnail in place, because of the empty db-field the system doesn't know it's there.
So, because creating thumbnails worked fine before installing the MODs, something seems to have gone wrong there. I was very carefull doing this and all MODs worked as described after installation. So I can't figure out, where the problem is, so far.
Can anybody please help me with a hint or suggestions?

Thanks in advance ...

1) what error logs say?
2) I guess, you'll need start over and install each mod one-by-one and test the thumbnailer after each change...
Your first three "must do" before you ask a question:

Hi V@no,

@1: Which Error-Log:
  • Apache: X:\apache2.0.55\Apache2\logs\error.log - No related Error-Messages found
  • mySQL: X:\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.0\data\Tecra-S1.err - No related Error-Messages found
  • any other logs: Which ones and where ????

@2: I'd hoped you wouldn't say that. I'd really hate to do this. Any other ideas? Is there a way to debug/monitor/trace the execution of PHP-Modules?

3: Module thumbnailer.php itself is original unmodified 1.7.2. Which other 4images-Modules call/use/reference this module? The error should be there (imho).

Thanks for looking into my problem!

Hi V@no,

I'm really ashamed!

This morning I just started up my notebook to have another try and everything works as fine as it should  :o. And I don't have a clue :?: why . Maybe some internal system-error in Apache or mySQL.  But anyway I'm happy  :D I don't have to reinstall all the MODs.

Sorry for bothering you. This one teaches me for the future always to reboot and try again before posting anything  :!:.

Thanks anyway!
