Sort next/previous Image links on details page by image id or image date

Hi,

is it possible to sort the next/previous Image links on the image details page by image id or image date ?

when i go on the image details page the next/previous image links show me the images by date but only from the categorie from the image, but i want to show the next image by date oder imageid from ALL categories.

mein problem ist halt die startseite. wenn ein besucher dort auf ein bild klickt dann erwartet er dass die nächstes/vorheriges links auf der details seite in der gleichen reihenfolge sortiert sind wie auf der startseite ..... aber derzeit zeigen die beiden links nur die bilder aus der kategorie des bildes
