Catagory rebuild

On my site I have a catagory with 9 sub-catagories with about 100 pictures and movies. Now I want to put all the content of the sub-catagories one level higher and put them all together in one excisting catagorie.
I can do it one by one, but there's got to be a much easier way to do this!!

Who can help out???
