« on: September 16, 2008, 03:42:09 PM »
hello everybody

the problem is: if any one register with arabic name and letters after register can't login although he be registered and his name is in my admin panel in arabic letters..

i searched the forum here and found soloution but it was for 1.7.2&1.7.4 versions (mine is 1.7.6)
this was the soloution
http://www.4homepages.de/forum/index.php?topic=18256.msg99614#msg99614
but i cant find the same codes in my 1.7.6 global.php file.
so any one can help me solving this problem??

thanx in advance

That fix is already included in v1.7.6

Can I see it?

Well, my point was that "тест" is in russian, and after you activated it I was able to login.
And from what I can see the problem why your registered arabic user can't login is because their account is not activated :)

So, activate that user and try login.

That error usually means you are not using proper email address (set in "Admin email" in the settings).
You should contact your web host administrator and ask the exact settings to connect and use their SMTP server, including email address for the "FROM" field, that is authorized send out emails.

i use the same settings that worked in my vbulletin forum and i took it from my host.
and was like that:
mail.ahlycairo.com
username:****
passowrd:****
port:25
****= my cpanel login details

and the admin email is the same as admin email in vbulletin.
but not worknig and still have the same error.

so is there is any soloution for this problem?
best regards V@no and thank u very much for your support.

Maybe in vbulletin other settings you forgot about?
I see you are using live.com email address. On many servers only email addresses with the web site domain are allowed send out emails. In your case its probably should be something like blah@ahlycairo_com (replace _ with a dot)
So, as I said there is nothing we can help you with, its all up to you and web server admin to solve this issue ;)

I ran out of ideas :)

I am professional with this issue :)

I faced it more than three time :)

but the solution is not easy

u need to change the encoding of the web site to "UTF-8"

thats means you need also to update all the images "name" , "Description" & "Search Words"

Have a nice week end

Actually (to my surprise) arabic doesn't require UTF8 charset, it uses windows-1256. And what turned out the problem was the human factor ;)

But thanks for sharing.
