$db_servertype = "mysql";
$db_host = "MYHOST";
$db_name = "*******";
$db_user = "*******";
$db_password = "*********";

$table_prefix = "4images_";

define("4IMAGES_ACTIVE", 1);

$cache_enable = 0;

But it still wont change. what else am i missing?

I totally understand what it's supposed to be doing, but it's not doing that. we add images all day long. the 'new' images on the homepage are stuck. they stay the same no matter what.

;)  thanks for any help you can give.

Mods & Plugins (Releases & Support) / Re: [MOD] Photo Preview Hack
« on: April 26, 2005, 10:59:50 PM »
Thanks guys. I needed both!!

This forum is a good thing.

This used to be an FAQ topic.  It was lost after the attack but now I've restored it.

http://www.4homepages.de/forum/index.php?topic=7350

4images already lets you preview the next and previous images from the details page.  It's HTML that's commented out in the template.
Dear Chris,
I thinkl that you've misunderstood my meaning. This patch allows preview next and previous "TWO" photos from the current images. And it placed just under the current image for user to click. The reason why I wrote this mod is that the biggest sharing album system which owns over 500,000 users in Taiwan using this kind of style. Many 4Images Taiwaness users has a lot of feedback from their viewer who complains that they are already used to that kind of style. :) Hopeful, the user in the foreign countries will also like this kind of style. :)

Hello,

Thanks for this mod. Exactly what I needed. May I ask; How can I modify this so that it displays images even when a user is not logged in or the category is only available to 'registered' users?

In other words, all of my images require registration, but I'd like to include this random.php in other webpages that non-users see. It's OK if they cant see the full 4images details page, but just the thumbnail and description. Does that make sense?

here we go:
http://www.nicky.net/4images/random_full.txt

have fun

Is there a similar mod/php for 1.7.1 ?

I'd like to insert a random thumb and description into my webpages, on the same server, but outside of the 4images program.

Thanks!!

Discussion & Troubleshooting / New images on homepage no longer update
« on: April 26, 2005, 11:25:52 AM »
Hi.  The new images on homepage no longer update. They are set to the same four for the last month or so. I only just noticed and it's way too long to retrace mod's etc. Is this a standard thing anyone knows how to fix?

We've added 2000+ images and the same 4 images stay on the homepage.

Thanks.

Dear Real,

So sorry. Thank you so much for the offer. I thought I 'closed' this thread. I finally got the 4images tweaked to the way I needed. I meant to close this up.

Thanks again,

Aaron

Hi,

I did. I uploaded the correct version as well, but still no luck. As much as I enjoy a good troubleshoot venture, I gave up when I discovered "GD" on the server.

Thanks for the response though. Take care,

Aaron

Hi Road Dogg. Actually the problem was that the server did not have 'sessions' enabled. They fixed it yesterday, and all is well.

Thanks foi your concern. Take care.

can anyone help me on this one?

FYI: The host (Yahoo.com corporate sites) stated that:

Please note in order for PHP session handing to work,  you will need to create a 'tmp' subdirectory under web site root directory first.
It's absurd that they either didnt pre-set that, or advise the larger clients (me) that the add-on was needed.

Anyway, thanks for your help. It ultimately solved the problem.

Hi Jan and all,

While I totally appreciate the benefit of open source and forum-based support, etc. I simply don't have the time to muddle my way through this issue. I have 4images installed and there are a few bugs and tweaks I need fixed. I totally support how you all do things here, but I really need this up and running for my business and would like to hire someone to do it properly.

I don't mean to step on any toes here, I just need the product installed and am willing to pay for it.

Thanks,

Aaron
