Discussion & Troubleshooting / Simple GD question. I think :)
« on: December 17, 2002, 03:07:00 AM »
I have a directory full of images that I would like to create thumbnails out of. Sort of like this script does.  My question is are there any tutorials on-line that will help me. I have tried searching but I haven't been able to find any.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Discussion & Troubleshooting / Template Installation Problem
« on: October 28, 2002, 04:39:53 PM »
I have downloaded the template which looks like phpBB http://www.vierstra.com/4templates/ and when I go to select it from the admin section I get this error:
Code: [Select]

Warning: OpenDir: No such file or directory (errno 2) in /home/68design/public_html/ photoalbum/admin/templates.php on line 62

Warning: closedir(): supplied argument is not a valid Directory resource in /home/68design/ public_html/photoalbum/admin/templates.php on line 68

I have just upgraded to V1.7 so I was wondering if this is the problem?

[edit] I just tried on a version using V1.6 and I didn't get the error but it isn't changing the template. [/edit]

On this line in settings I can't figure out what my path is.

I have tried
http://skgastonia.com/netPBM
/public_html/netPBM
/skgaston/public_html/netPBM
/netPBM

But it always give me the error
NetPBM error. Wrong path or NetPBM not installed.
Check module settings.

Has anyone else had this problem or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks,
Eric

Chit Chat / Which is better GD or imagemagick?
« on: August 23, 2002, 02:44:19 AM »
I am looking through the documentation of both GD and ImageMagick but I can't decide which I should go with. :( Any way my host is Linux running Apache 1.3.26 (Unix).  And I am not realy sure on where to download the files. Do I just place them above my public_html and then point to that in the settings or place them in a directory inside the public_html and point it there?

Also once I download one of the programs and get it to work will I be able to thumbnail the large photos?  I think that is what they are for.

Sorry for the basic questions.
Eric

I am trying to install the script and it is not working. :(  Anyway I have downloaded the install.htm script after the install.php doesn't but it still doesn't work.  Also I have chmod all my files 777 so it should have no problem righting to it.

Please can someone give me some advice on what to do next? Can I just edit the file with my database info? and not go through the install.

Thanks,
Eric
