DB backup size

Hello,

I've a problem with my DB [http://www.john-howe.com].
My actual size is:

Database:
Total: 724.1 KB / 4images: 641.2 KB

And when i make a DB backup, the size is:

backup200301062127.sql  06.01.2003 21:27 1.2 MB

... a previous backup (wich is similar as above, just without a few error in text!) give this:

backup200301061703.sql 06.01.2003 17:03 374.8 KB

And then when I try to restore my DB, I receive this error:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 2519829 bytes) in /home/virtual/site84/fst/var/www/html/portfolio/gallery/includes/db_utils.php on line 30

My PHPMyAdmin give me that size:

Is that correct for the size of my DB, and what is the error message?

You cannot compare the databse size and the size of the textfile-dump with the exported data.

The error message means, that the texfile is to bog and cannot be handled because ther is not enough server memory size.

If you have phpMyAdmin installed, it's better to use it for backuping/retsoring you database. The backup-function of 4images does exactly the same but is not such as stable as phpMyAdmin.

I see.... ok thanks you!
I thinked that  4images use a external file to save the indexed words.
So it will fall me into a trouble ;o)
