Is there a way to upload a mass amout of thumbnails for pictures i already have, and not to have to specify each one, beucase there all of the same name. I mean, not having to go and edit each picture..cuz i run my own small sever..and still i cant get the Auto-Thumb to work....

EX:

DSC0001.JPG = 56kb <--Regular
DSC0001.JPG = 2kb   <--Thumbnail

if anyone can help me please....

- create a category from the admin control panel. then ftp your regular files to data/media/1 <-- (if) that's the category number just just created.
- after that ftp your thumbnail files to data/thumbnails/1
- then you go to your admin control panel again and select from the left hand menue "check for new images" (i hope that's what it says in english - i'm running the german version)

that should work - at least that's what i am just doing with approx. 2500 images; so it better does work

4 Image schreibt zwar das verzeichniss in die datenbank und alles ,aber im ordner media sind die Bilder 0 byte gross ??
könnt ihr mir weiterhelfen??
kann es daran liegen das die datenbank voll ist oder der webspace?
kann aber nicht sein den ich habe noch nicht soviele bildder

Vermute, daß Dein Quota überschritten ist. Auf Deutsch: der Gesamtumfang dessen was Dein Hoster Dir zugesteht ist überschritten/erreicht. Dann werden zwar Dateien angelegt, aber halt keine Daten übertragen (kenne ich zur Genüge aus der Firma - da reicht zum Glück ein Anruf bei den ITlern )

Frag/check mal wieviel Du von Deinem Space verbraucht hast.

I get the warning: Fatal error: Call to undefined function: phpinfo() in /users/iwebland.com/dj-ice/4images/info.php on line 1

What does this mean??

Maybe this does the trick (although it would mean that your server is somehow configured in a weird way ...

How to update the program to show the image in the new window when we press the download button and not expound us to use ie to download directly.

Can you please rephrase your question? I have to admit that I don't quite understand what you're trying to do nor what you are trying to achieve.

I checked my webhost and it says no value.
It is a must for 4images to use with open_basedir? possible to disable it?

I've installed it and my phpinfo also says "no value" for open_base_dir so I figure it's OK - actually I didn't bother and just installed it, maybe I've been lucky.

Könnte sein, dass mein Gratis-host das nicht erlaubt, aber gäbe es dann nicht auch Probleme mit Newsscripts wo man direkt aus dem Browser News posten kann? So eins hab ich nämlich installiert und das klappt.

Nein, das sind zwei verschiedene Dinge. Erstell Dir einfach mal 'ne PHPinfo-Datei und guck was die ausspuckt. Such mal nach "file_uploads", da müßte 'ne "1" stehen für aktiviert und dann gibt's 'n bißchen weiter unten noch "upload_max_filesize" - vielleicht ist das ja auch ein bißchen zu lütt eingestellt.

Wie funktioniert das mit den Wasserzeichen? Ich habe gesehen, dass ich mit PaintShop Pro solche Wasserzeichen einfügen kann. ABER: Wie erstelle ich diese Wasserzeichen? Sind das halbtransparente Gif's? Leider habe ich keine Ahnung.

Ich mache das mit Photoshop/Imageready. Eine neue Ebene wird über das Bild gelegt, dort kommt das Wasserzeichensymbol drauf (ich nehme meistens 'n einfaches ©) - ordentlich groß und fett. Das ganze in weiß, dann aktiviere ich für diese Ebene den Effekt "Abgeflachte Kannte und Relief" und setze den Ebenemodus auf "Multiplizieren". Dann sieht man nur die Ränder des ©. So sieht's z.B. aus

Diese Geschichte speichere ich als Aktion ab mit automatischer Zentrierung im Bild, Skalierung und Speicherung als optimiertes JPEG und erzeuge damit ein sogenanntes Droplet auf das ich einfach ordnerweise Bilder draufziehe und geh dann erstmal DVDs gucken

ja kommt, ausser meinen beitrag runterzumachen kommen hier keine kommentare?

Sorry thr0ne - auch nicht meine Absicht. Technisch sehr interessant und ausgebufft; ich würd's nicht hinbekommen (zum Glück muß ich's auch nicht). Aber wie Jan denke ich auch, daß es den Aufwand nicht wert ist - wer die Bilder haben will, der kriegt sie auch - so ist das leider.

Der gleiche Fehler beim Uploaden einer Bmp/Tiff Datei tritt übrigens auch mit NetPBM auf.

Spar Dir am besten das rumgefummel, Bilder lassen sich nicht schützen. Trotz aller Anstrengungen kann man am Ende einfach einen Screenshot machen und schon hat man das Bild.

Trägt nicht zum Thema bei aber trotzdem: genau meine Meinung

Okay.. and what does that mean? I'm totally clueless here..

You need to flush one of your database's caches (?). And Nicki just described how to do that (in short words). A little more explanation: login as root via SSH onto your server and execute the command "mysqladmin flush-hosts".

If you cannot do it you gotta ask your provider to do that for you then.

Warning: imagejpeg: unable to open './../data/thumbnails/1/bikini0258.jpg' for writing in image_utils.php on line 79

the directory thumbnails/1/ is chmoded to 777? and please check if the image bikini0258.jpg already exists and if yes if it also writable (i.e. chmod 666)

otherwise Jan has to check what line 79 in the mentioned php file actually does.
