This is a strange problem which i've noticed just now.

I download a file (hosted locally) be it small or large and while that file is downloading I can't browse other pages. As soon as I stop the download that page loads up. It's like my connection is being queued by 4images 

I tested this with both I.E and mozilla. Other softwares on my site such as IPB and VB work fine. i.e I can download the attachments and simultenously browse other pages. So I don't think this is a server problem as it is my server is highly optimized and poweful.

Did anyone have this problem or still have it? Any solutions for this?

Ive been using 4images for over 3 years now for various sites. The problem which comes up time and time again is hosting videos. Ive used the script on shared servers and on dedicated servers and it always has a problem in hosting videos even after fine tuning the servers.

Now I need some help from the developers because I am considering using 4images for a video only site. The problem I'm getting is this.

As soon as I add many large videos 20mb+ in a category that category takes so much time to compile. From the stats mysql takes 0.08 seconds average and php takes average 11 seconds and the serverload shoots up from 0.5 to 3. After the category is accessed first time it loads fast cos of the 4images cache comes into effect. But because the category will be changed alot I cannot rely on the cache that much.

Another problem is accessing the video itself. The details.php file takes so much time to load. Again stats are 0.05 mysql and 7 seconds PHP and the serverload shoots up by 1. Now because the details file isnt cached it makes it impossible to use 4images to host videos

So my question is what changes do I have to make to the 4images php files to speed up the page compilation and keep serverloads to normal?

Plz help this is very important.

Hi,

I am hosting my data files on another webserver on the same box. I wish to automatically edit the download_url when a member uploads a file so the download_url reflects the member uploads. For example, member uploads image name "myfile.mp3". The download_url is automatically updated with following text "http://www.mysite.com:8080/categorynumber/myfile.mp3"

Also, can the same be done for the check_images function in acp where if I add some files through ftp they will be added to the database with download_url automatically updated?

Help is needed on this because I need to control the bandwidth used by my 4images site and moving to an alternative webserver is the only option I have.

Hi there,

I have an Invision board and I wish to use the user details i.e username and password for my 4images site. I don't wish to integrate the session info. So example, a person logins via the 4images site but the script calls the info from the ibf_members table in my database.

I have already tried changing the sessions.php and constants.php to point to the ibf_members table but as far as I know the password encryption used by IPB is different to 4images so when I try to login on the 4images site I get a invalid username/password error.

I know I'm pretty close to finishing this because there are no other errors. I just need to know how to call the user info from the IPB table.

Plz help guys! Need this desperatly!
