Chit Chat / finally purchased 4images :)

After using 4images for 4years on test servers and sites with no commercial gains - i finally went ahead and purchased 4images
yes - i know it still lacks a few functions i would surely like , but this is still one of the best image gallery scripts i have used and increased my expertise , it has give me many customers ( i am not sure how they use their 4images ) , but now i have a affiliate account ... so i can redirect them .

it does feel good to buy this and give something back to the developers ....however small it might be.
I would also like to add that i have only bought the license to use this on a commercial website ( my own )  and not bought any copyright removal :p , because i feel that is totally redundant . I don't even try to let clients think that i made 4images ... that is a waste of time .

i have not used my 4images admin panel for long , and recently i was trying insert an advertisement in the category.html and details.html but whatever i insert there is not getting saved . and even if i open the file from ftp and paste the code there , it does not display .
what could be wrong ?

hi
i have a big gallery with lots of pics in unsorted categories . Will it hurt if i change the pics cats from inside phpmyadmin ? or maybe using some mysql code ? instead of doing it one by one fromthe admin panel ? is it ok to do so ?

Hi Guys ,
I have been using 4images for long time . previously where i had my site , i usually allowed normal users to upload via browser i.e the gallery script ... and often myself uploaded files directly to the /data/media/xyz/ folders via FTP .
Then used the Checkimages mod to validate the new images .

Now i have shifted the site to a new server and moved the files and folders . Everything is working perfectly .... except i cant upload by FTP ... getting permission denied . Folders are in 755

I asked my ISP and they went in and diagnosed saying i cant upload directly by my FTP user account as " gallery/data/media " folders  ....  only httpd user have privilage to upload to that folder .
How can i solve this , coz nothing is changed from the ropevious files and mods i had . What do i need to do ? please advise .

i noticed this particular table is very huge , whicile taking a backup . Is this table neccesary ? or can this be deleted ... is ti a table just for storing peoples searches ?

and also i want to display this inside ,y invisionboard forum ,
i am guessing full part of this might not be possible here ...

i know this is not neccesarily a 4images question ... but if anyone has a known answer , please let me know . Occassionally i change / play around with the title tags in different sections of the gallery . like shifting the <sitename><imagename> etc .
My site gets rgularly almost every hour visited by google . but still i dont see any change in the title in google search results .
anyone has any dea - how to get the new titles to come up on google search results pages / index ?

how can we prevent users ( Guests ) from being able to simply copy paste a image url from the thumbnail link and then change the " thumbnail" to "media" and thus view the image , even without loggin in ?
