No no.. I don't wanna limit the number of folders... I just wanna know if Debian or 4images will make problems if a certain amount of categories/folders is reached!?

Is there a limit on how many subfolders can be stored in a folder under linux? I already have like 1200 categories... and so also 1200 folders. 4images is still running fine so far, but is there a maximum of category folders unix (debian 3.1) can handle... or a maximum of categories 4 images can handle?

Well... I have a big problem with deleting images from the server through the ACP.

If I upload pictures via the 4images system, I can easily delete them.
But when I upload images via ftp and use the "check new images " function to add them into the system... and then later on try to delete them, it does not work.
ACP reports that all files have been deleted, but the original file that was ftp'ed is still there.....
I know it has something to do with file ownership... but how can I set it so, that I can delete images through the ACP, that got uploaded via ftp?

Uhm.. well... my request has nothing to do with the other mod..... my requested mod should just show the privilegs in the style and close to the position of the other mod....

Hi.

Can someone give me a little mod, that shows the permissions of every folder in the ACP/edit categories list? 
I have already the mod installed that shows the cat ID for each folder right behind the folder name in the list view.... would be great if there could just be a next value behind that, indicating the "view category permission".. so that I do not have to click on "edit" everytime I wanna check the folderpermissions.

I'm currently using 1.72 with all patches and fixes....

Du musst die Zugriffsrechte fuer diese Folder wieder richtig setzen!
Schaue dir die Installationsanleitung fuer 4images an und setze dann die Rechte fuer alle Datein und Folder so wie in der Anleitung beschrieben.
Am einfachsten per FTP client... und dann auf den entsprechenden Dateien / Foldern CHMOD ausfuehren.

Au, die Babbelfish-uebersetzung tut weh!
Ich wuerde fast mal sagen, das du wohl oder uebel neu mit 4images beginnen must.... denn keiner der sich hier im forum rumtreibt, verwendet so eine minimale Version wie du sie brauchst.... und die paar mods von denen du hier redest wieder einzuarbeiten ist ja nun auch nicht so wild.
Denk nur einfach beim naechsten mal daran zu veraendernde Dateien vorher zu backuppen....

Check permissions (chmod) for the /data folder....
If it's a new installation, make sure you've read the installation instructions and set permissions for all folders as described...

can someone mabe enhance the category_bit part so, that I can assign a different caregory_bit to all subcategories of cat_id=12 while category_bit_12 is not the same as the category_bit for the subcategories. This way I don't have to create a seperate category_bit for each subcategory seperately. That means.... for example... I have category 12, and 3 subcategories under cat_id 12... with IDs 13,14,15.... so, now I have category_bit_12.html for the look of category 12... and one new category_bit for all the subcategories...like category_bit_12_sub.html. All subcategories now use this new category bit.... instead of needing it's own bits like category_bit_13, category_bit_14 etc.....
Would be cool...

Hmmm....
Webmasterplan.com ist schonmal aus dem rennen da sie ihren dienst eingestellt haben.
Und da es zudem ueber pixaco.de geht und damit in dem deutschen interface landet ist es alles andere als international einsetzbar.
Und auf Snapfish.com habe ich nirgends sowas wie eine Anleitung zur Einbindung gefunden.....
Es muss doch eine moeglichkeit geben Snapfish.com direkt nutzen zu koennen, ohne ueber irgendwelche addserver oder aehnliches zu gehen!?

Leider ist Pixaco jetzt Snapfish..... und deren system scheint nurnoch ueber deren Onlinealben zu funktionieren. Und irgendwelche Anleitungen zum einbinden auf der eigenen Seite habe ich bei denen schon garnicht gefunden.
Gibt es noch einen anderen internationlen Fotodruck-service der das drucken direkt von der eigenen Homepage unterstuetzt??
