Internal Server Error: unsuccessful installation

I have installed 4images twice through cpanel (earlier version), and once by downloading, unzipping and uploading through FTP. The result is the same each time where the files are uploaded but I cannot access the admin or install file through any browser. Instead I get an error page: Internal Server Error. The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Can anyone please guide me to some troubleshooting tips?
