Unfortunate that there exist a Bridge for Coppermine and Menalto Gallery... however not for 4images, although 4images is better than all different. :(
Are there none to can solve that?

I guess the problem is 2fold

1. if you have 4images installed and you want to add joomla then you have to use 4images usr database...
2. if you have Joomla installed and you add 4images then you need to use Joomla user database.

Even if someone comes with a bridge it will need a clean install..means that all of your users should re-register..which might be a pain.

One  solution:
Install Joomla with no user registration..then use the com component to include 4images where the people will need to register and can use the option remember me forever.

The cool thing is that SMF can be integrated easily with Joomla with (remember me forever option) so you can have 2 logins: one for Joomla/SMF and one for 4images. Tell the users to check the option remember forever...and problem solved.

I personaly think that all of the net softwares should have a standart..one DB usernames and passwords...so you can integrate back and forwards..

Then recently i decided to try joomla... yeah its rock..
I try to search for 4images joomla bridge ........not yet exist!!

Intergrating php-nuke with 4images was not that difficult :  (if i remember doing it 1000 years ago)
but with joomla?? i see no way to do a hack.. or i didn't see it

wondering of my galleries...what should i do with it..
but there is a jommla gallery2 bridge.. someone already did it!!
gallery has improve these recent years.. thought not as powerfull as 4images yet, sure someday it will

guess my day with 4images are over.. unless

I agree with Badman40

Menalto Integration...
http://gallery.menalto.com/forum/63

CPG Integration...
http://coppermine-gallery.net/demo/cpg14x/docs/index.htm#integrating_bridge_start

G2 Integration...
NukedGallery.net: a community site about integrating Gallery into PHP-Nuke and PhpBB2. Maintained by Dariush Molavi.
XOOPsGallery: a community site about integrating Gallery into the Xoops CMS.
G2-Sites: A community site for showcasing Gallery installations. Maintained by John Phillips.

Wish we had that kind of Integration...

just throwing my support in for a joomla/4images bridge with shared login, etc.
would definitely pay for it or donate without hesitation!
I don't even know any decent joomla developers that could handle the job. I contacted one, but he never bothered to get back to me.

I reopen this topic
Will be happy to donate for making this work
4image is the best gallery solution I ever used . It should be combined with Joomla!
Please reconsider making this  :D

There are a couple of great SMF-Joomla bridges... would be great to have also an Joomla-4images bridge... that way we wouldn't need an SMF-4images bridge :p

I work with joomla and with 4images.
Would be very good if someone can make it please!! :D

Hallo,

Hi guys,
For me it will be also very helpful if someone make such a thing so let’s see how much everyone of us wish to donate and then we will find someone who can do it. What do you think? My programming knowledge is very poor but I suppose this is quite hard work so lets pay to someone to do it.

yes bridges exist for Gallery2 and coppermine

TWO WORDS.....they suck!

I spent all day today installing a fresh joomla and 4images, coppermine, and gallery2

to try to determine the best solution for my project

4images is the way to go... hands down
gallery2 seemed just silly and the bridge was wonky
coppermine was a little confusing and agian the bridge was wonky

4IMAGES feels like the work of gods compared to those 2

Joomla is the best answer for easy to implement CMS and many many people are turning to this platform
I personally install about 2 week

but the problem with Joomla is that no really good comprehensive image gallery exists

4images could be this gallery
but we need a bridge

I can already merge the two using the wrapper function in the frontend and make it look seamless

but linking 4images as a componant into the joomla admin panel is the ideal way to go

Id be willing to donate real money to this project
