Hi everyone,

I had the same problem:

Whatever I do, it does not count any votes nor can I save the settings in the admin panel.
I've tried it all... from erasing and reinstalling the DB table to completely reinstalling the mod several times. (also tried the spanish original)
I do not get any errors or whatever.... it just does not store anything in the tables when hitting "vote" in a poll or any of the "save", "accept", "add", "delete" or "refresh poll" buttons in the ACP-tool.

Anyone a clue what this could be?

Try this:

put register_globals = ON

hi everyone,

I have the same problem as mentioned above:

Quote
... if you click on Archive it reloads the index.php again.

There's no chance to get to the archive.

The problem is caused by register_globals being off. If I turn it on everything is fine.

Does anybody have an idea how this issue can be solved by leaving register_globals = off ? My host won't change this.

Thanks

btw: thanks Fugaziman for this one  :D

update:

okay I was to overhasty, I love my host  :D

again, thanks V@no

I'll remove the code you recommended, because if visitors can view details there is no advantage of registering at my site.

Hi everyone,

Thanks V@no for this one  :).

I have a problem with not logged in visitors. My entire "last comments box" shows up for visitors only on one condition, if I give all the right to view image details in the category settings of ACP.

I actually don't want to give visitors the right to view image details, but still want to display the last comments with thumbs on my home.html page.

So my question: is the mod supposed to work like this (not showing up for visitors without the right to look at details), or did I miss something in the installation?

Thanks.

Hi V@no,

the 4images at my host is just a mirror of the one on my desktop. So it's the same Firefox, on the same websites, on a different system.

The "only" difference I can see:

host:    apache 2.0.52  on debian/linux

my desktop:   apache 2.0.54  win32

So it might be one of the modules loaded which makes the difference?

Hi everyone,

this is a screenshot of the page at my host with Firefox 1.0.6 and the buttons:

the same Firefox 1.0.6 without showing the buttons on my home system:

Now I wonder how I can verify the difference in order to get rid of these buttons. It could be anything, is that right?

hi everyone,

I installed the mod again and got the same error message as posted above.

Now I asked myself what email.php has to do with this mod, since this is the file causing my problems.

So I changed email.php back to original (from the 1.7.1 installation) and now the contact form works perfectly with smtp.  :)

But now of course I wonder  :?:

hi vano,

yes. Email from ACP, postcards and registration everything works well, except the contact form.

hi everyone,

if I try to send via the contact form I get this:

Quote
Email Error: AUTH LOGIN invalid mail server response: 250-SIZE 26214400
Maybe your SMTP Server does'nt support authentification. Try to leave Username and Password blank in your settings.

I'm using smtp because without it, email would not work.

Any ideas?
