"most downloads" doesnßt count

Hello,
what can i do that the statistic with the count of the download works? It is always "0". I´m running V1.7.

Downloads made by 4images administrators are not counted.  Only downloads made by non-administrators are added to the image download counter's value.

So, is it  possible to change the code, so that after a user logged in a message-box pops up which explains that "there a download-buttons to get the pic".
Where and what do i have to change to get this pop-up (once, after the login)
