@ batu , it seems that he want to display the latest items from a selected category on index page 

hmm.. yes you can... i  sw some Mods here in 4images.. but you have to goto coding every time you want to change them, i think it has no administration via Admin panel,
may be im wrong About that

What I want is the following.

I want to create a new category (dual monitor wallpapers) and the latest images added to this category are published in the home along with new images and random images.
