template instalation problem

i am having problem with templates installation.
i download some templates but i cant install it.
i copied files/folders to the 4images/templates
and copied xxx.php to the root directory if needed.

then i went to the admin control panel,
and pick template but nothing happens.

i have 4images 1.7.4, and templates made for 1.7.4  :(

... you selected the template on the right place ... not on ACP -> Edit Templates ... 
... go to ...
ACP -> General -> Settings -> General settings -> Choose template directory -> your template
