Discussion & Troubleshooting / Re: 4images and server ressources
« on: March 08, 2006, 03:23:50 AM »
Can 30 user and 20 guests cause 100% CPU-work on a Dual-Xenon machine with 2GB Ram?

It's not likely IF YOU'RE ON A SERVER BY YOURSELF.
However, you're probably in a shared hosting environment. There may be 5 gallery scripts on it, 10 message boards, 10 guestbooks, etc... on all of the different accounts.

Your gallery is taking up too many resources. Upgrade to 1.7.1 (or now, 1.7.2) plus do all the standard things (that may or may not help anyway) like diable random image, etc.

Looks familiar. I can almost guarantee you are hosting by Interland. Am I right?

Installation, Update & Configuration / Re: upgrade 1.7 to 1.71?

thanks so much chris  8) ,looks like i got my work cut out, wish me luck  :D

Chris - I assume you said this because you have more than a few mods installed (like me). Did you upgrade? If so, any tips? Did you go through each file one by one to compare or did you just do a fresh install then add all of the mods back.

Discussion & Troubleshooting / Re: Gallery causing server load problems
« on: December 20, 2005, 02:53:52 AM »
*tagging* this thread. I have many users, many images, a dedicated server (with other accounts of my own) and have performance problems too.

Too bad. Vierstra.com has some nice templates. I even use one on one of my sites. But another site I have needs to have apostrophes in the Category names.

Any other template makers have this problem or is it just the ones at Vierstra.com?

Mods & Plugins (Releases & Support) / wow
« on: June 23, 2003, 10:32:35 PM »
Turns out what caused the error (it seems) is copy and pasting the code in SAFARI.

I switched to MOZILLA and everything works just fine.

Go figure...

Mods & Plugins (Releases & Support) / error message I get
« on: June 23, 2003, 08:41:21 PM »
Can anyone explain this?
I followed the instructions using the "cookie" method for part of step 1.3

I got this error message after I uploaded everything.

Code: [Select]
Parse error:  parse error, unexpected T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING, expecting ')' in /home/comicart/public_html/gallery/lang/english/main.php on line 376

Parse error:  parse error, unexpected T_VARIABLE in /home/comicart/public_html/gallery/includes/page_header.php on line 303

Mods & Plugins (Requests & Discussions) / Ah...

I think I found it!
If I comment out this:
Code: [Select]
{if cat_description}<span class="smalltext">{cat_description}</span><br />
in category_bit.html it doesn't seem to appear on the home page.

Wow. Never knew it was that easy.

Mods & Plugins (Requests & Discussions) / but
« on: May 10, 2003, 05:15:14 PM »
Yes, but whatever I add appears on the home page as well.
I would like to have the description appear only in the category page - not the home page.

I would like to customize each category page to tell a little about the artist featured in that category.

Is there a mod for that?

Mods & Plugins (Requests & Discussions) / Sorry!

I'm sorry. I guess I misunderstood that function.

Thank you so much for the help. This is a fantastic script.

I need a mod that would allow an admin to approve images that are uploaded before those uploaded images can be seen on the site.

I have a site where I'm worried someone may upload Adult content. I would like to be able to approve or delete an uploaded image before the public can see it.

Is that possible?

Code: [Select]
INSERT INTO 4images_users (user_id, user_level, user_name, user_password, user_email, user_showemail, user_allowemails, user_invisible, user_joindate, user_activationkey, user_lastaction, user_location, user_lastvisit, user_comments, user_homepage, user_icq) VALUES (1,9,'admin','21232f297a57a5a743894a0e4a801fc3','admin@yourdomain.com',1,1,0,1016023608,'1e3457c0b2052a9633b886fd75ef91e0',1016023608,'',0,0,'','');

I tried this code and got this error message in PhpMyAdmin:

 ERROR
