Same problem here. 1.7.10 Recent install. Categories in Admin worked fine, but now a blank page...

Mods & Plugins (Requests & Discussions) / show extra category fields

I've been modifying 1.7.4 extensively and have added two category fields: cat_type and cat_price. Don't ask me why... I've got the admin all set up and the new field information is nicely stored in the db, but I can't get it to show in the category_bit.html.
I thought using {cat_type} and {cat_price} would do the trick, but I think I've missed something.
Can someone please help?

I've been looking for a while, and I can't imagine this hasn't been asked/done before, but I just can't find it... 
I would like to show one certain thumbnail taken from a category to show in front of the various categories on home.html. So no random image, but in front of every category its own fixed thumbnail.
