I installed version 17.1.10 on my home machine in November 2011. I created 307 catagories on it and everything worked fine.
When I came to install the program on the web site, I used a 1 click install provided by my IT hosts. I then backed up my catagories file on my home machine, and restored it on my remote web server.
I now have two sets of files, the first set on the server beginning with 4images match the ones on my home machine, and the second set do not have the 4 prefix.
I assume that the restore has done this, as all the files with no 4 in front of them are empty, except for the users file, which holds the current users.
Is it possible to copy the data from one file to another using phpmyadmin?
I should then be able to delete the other files beginning with 4.
Or would it be better to rename the files. If I do this, will the program pick them up?
What else should I do?
Since making this post, I used phpadmin to make copies of both the files for catagories, saved them in case I made an error (which I did!) and then deleted the wrong one and renamed the correct one. It all now works fine.
