[REQ] A webpage with all mods listed here.
« on: July 01, 2005, 11:24:52 PM »
I have seen a lot of people confused asking over and over for mods that are already placed here on the forum.  I am sure that a webpage just to list the mods listed here would be great.

I just wanted to know if someone is volunteering to do this, since V@NO is already too busy, I think we could help him out with this.

Add some replies, and I hope everyone sees this as a good idea and if no one volunteers, I can do it myself.

What do you think V@NO?

Cheers,

Albert Abrantes

I'm confused... what's wrong with just browsing the MOD's forum? :?

Hi Albert,
I personally think that having the mods in the forum makes more sense, as it covers all the necessary configuration steps as well of lots of different users feedback from integrating the mods. On numerous occassions i have had a prob installing a mod, then read through the thread & 90% of the time you find a post from someone who had the same prob and how they fixed it. You could always go to V@NO's site (http://gallery.vano.org/en/files?sessionid=a4d73a012d27fe898412bdbfdd3fd1fb) for a good list of mod's as well...
Just my 5 peso's
Cheers
Chris

Well I personaly would find it easier to have everything listed in one place, and of course, a link to the forum just like vano has in his webpage.  But I mean, if I am the only one that likes the idea than it's not a problem, but I woudn't mind doing this if more people think like me!!

Just trying to help

Cheers,

Albert Abrantes

I agree with Albert. All modes catogerised and listed on a website. It will be linked to the thread where the mod is posted. This way, it will be way easier for people to look for mods instead of using the forum search function. Albert, if you're going to do this, let me know. I can sponsor webspace and bandwidth i guess(not much but enough for beginner). I dont mind doing some work too like adding mods, description, and a link back to the forum where the mod is at the website. PM me.

I think I'm going nuts!
Let me rephrase my question....I mean...zoom it for u:

what's wrong with just browsing the MOD's forum? :?

All of the mods are in that forum, what else do u need? IMO this request has no sence, unless I missunderstand it...

I'm not angry, so far nobody was able to answer my question, that's all.

Hi V@no,
the mods forum is o.k. but sometimes it's very hard to find extensions for a mod...

For example the memberlist mod. There are 12 pages with many questions...
And between all these questions there are some solutions.
Sometimes it's hard to find these solutions, sometimes there are only non working suggestions...

It would be easier when there's a page like this

1. mod memberlist >> here
1.1. Sort order memberlist >> here
1.2. Extension female / male >> here
1.3. More stats in memberlist >> here

and so on

Only an example, and I know it would be very hard to write a list like this, but for many users it would be easier...

Matthias

oh, ok, that makes sense, thanks for clearing this up :D

now, ask yourself, if a mod publisher does not update their orinal post with the corrections that were discused in the replys (and I'm not talking the extension u've mentioned), do u think that they or somebody else would bother update another page somewhere else?

I like your idea, and perhaps the mods could have an extra reply under the original topic where such extension would be published later on...
