Auto-thumbnailer GD installed, not showin images

Hi,

i have searched the forum intensive but unfortunately havn't found a problem similar to mine.
GD, to create thumbnails, is already installed. The radio button to "auto creat" thumbs is set to "yes" (located in upload options).
By viewing the galerie, thumbs are not shown, only the placeholder "eye".

Have i forgotten something?

The thumbnails will be only created if images are uploaded through the gallery from users. If you upload images through the Control Panel, you havet to create the Thumbnails with the "Auth-Thumbnailer".

In the first step, i'm simply trying to upload my pictures as admin. Other user groups will follow later.
In order to create thumbs, do i have to copy the pictures in following directory

/4images/data/media/4 ? Or are others directories above /4images/ possible?
I conncted the the pictures by using the control panel to the galery. the galery works, except the thumbs.

By using the option "thumbnails checken" in "auto-thumbnailer" i get the result "keine einträge gefunden" (no entry found)

How do you add images? By FTP or by the upload form?

I upload the images via FTP. After that i used the control panel to link them with the galery.

You mean "Neue Bilder checken", right? And after that, you get "keine einträge gefunden" in Auto-Thumbnailer?

Yes these messages appeared, although I set these directories for read, write and executable.
I installed an new ftp client with the result that ist is now possible to connect the images with the galerie through the control panel. I upload via fip.
It's another step in the right direction, but it is still noch possibel to vies the thumbbails. After intrgrating the images into galerie and using "thumbnails checken", i receive the following meassage, which you alread mentiond ("Keine Enträge gefunden").
