Trouble with install after ftp upload
« on: June 07, 2003, 12:28:35 PM »
This is the first time that I have tried to install something like this, so I'm probably missing something very obvious. I have searhed the FAQ section and read the install instructions a 100 times. I unzipped the files and ftp'd them to my server (which is running php and mysql). if I go to the web address...

http://www.pix.flyer.co.uk

I get stuff that looks wrong and that doesn't make sense

If I go to

http://www.pix.flyer.co.uk/install.php

It looks slightly better but still doesn't make sense. Any help much appreciated, or am I being silly thinking that I can do this kind of stuff

Thanks again

Ian

I think I may have tracked the problem down to the ISP...

It doesn't look like your web server meets the prerequisites for installing 4images.  Your web host must support PHP and MySQL.
Quote
A webserver or web hosting account (Linux/Apache recommended)
PHP Version 4.0.5 or higher (PHP Version 4.1.2 recommended)
MySQL Version 3.23 or higher (MySQL Version 3.23.33 recommended)

Thanks for that, you are right. They do offer MySQL but I have to ask for it to be turned on, or set up or somthing else :-)

Thanks again
