verification code broken

Hello,
Most of 4Images seem to work fine.
Only: when I try to register as a new user, there is a point where I must enter a "verification code".
Now the place where this verification code must be, shows only a little red cross.
As if a picture is broken.

HOW to solve this?

I'm having the same problem. Not fixed yet, just going around the problem. Check out my post for what I have found. Let me know if anything works for you.
