how do I : subcategories in home ?

is there an ( easy ^^ ) way to display subcatégories in home of the galerie :

like : http://tvf.1337.fr/galerie/cat1.htm  but http://tvf.1337.fr/galerie/

I want to put cat & sub cat in the first page of the gallery > http://tvf.1337.fr/galerie/ here I want to see all the sub-cat like :

       Acteurs (215) Nouveau
Law & order, 24, Grey's Anatomy, Medium, NCIS, Séries francaises (Zodiaque..), Lost ...
   Artwork (7)
Versions retouchées, encadrées. Envoi de E-card.

you can change number of subcategories displayed in the settings (ACP (Admin Control Panel) -> Settings -> Number of subcategories)

strange i ever find this line in settings ... when i change the value, it work in first page of subcategory http://tvf.1337.fr/galerie/cat1.htm but not on the homepage ( always see the sub "sublevel 1" but not "sublevel 2" ( deeper in the categories)
